Itinerary

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – RED VALLEY – CUSCO DAY TREK

We pick you up at your respective hotel at 4.30 to 4.45 am, to then start our incredible adventure driving, approximately 2.30 to 3.00 hours in our tourist transport through the southern valley until we reach the town of Cusipata, which is at an altitude of, 3,310 masl, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, then we continue our journey, until we reach the town of killiwani, starting point of the trek (4,800 masl) Along this road there are impressive views of agricultural terraces, canyons and traditional Andean towns.

Once you arrive at the beginning of the trail, our Guide will give you a brief explanation of the area, and you will be able to start the hike approximately 1.30 hours on a path laid out with a gradual rise of 30 degrees, during the hike we will have the opportunity to appreciate spectacular landscapes of the area. At 11:45. A.M. Approximately we will arrive at our destination the mountain of colors that is at 5000. masl. Here you will have enough time to enjoy this landscape and also take photos of the highest mountain in the region. Ausangate (6,400.m.s.n.m). Our guide will give you detailed information about color formation:

THE COMPOSITION OF EACH STRIP ACCORDING TO ITS COLOR.

Pink or Fuchsia: mixture of red clay, mudslides (mud) and sand.
Off-white: sandstone (quartz sand) and limestone.
Purple or lavender: marl (mixture of clay and calcium carbonate) and silicates.
Red: argelitas and clays.
Green: clays rich in magnesium iron (mixture of iron and magnesium) and copper oxide.
Yellowish browns, mustard or gold: limonites, calcareous sandstones rich in sulfur minerals (combined with sulfur).
After visiting this place, we continue with a 20-minute walk, along a quiet path until we reach the viewpoint of the Red Valley, here we will have a spectacular view of the Red Valley in all its splendor. After visiting the mountain we will return to the place where our transportation is located, to return to Cusipata, where our lunch awaits us. And in the afternoon return to the city of Cusco. Arriving at approximately 5.30 p.m.
