Overview

Manu National Park 4Days, In this tour, we travel through the mountains to enter the cloud forest, where we will make some walks to observe, flora and fauna of various species, birds, orchids and perhaps monkeys. After spending the night in our private lodge (Mirador Amazon) we continue for 5 hours by boat to the Robles Ecological Reserve (tree house) deep in the jungle, visiting hot springs on the way.

In the afternoon we make a night walk to observe spiders (tarantulas), insects, frogs and snakes. The next day, we explored the primary rain forest (virgin) with the possibility of seeing many species of monkeys, birds like parrots and an incredible variety of plants such as giant trees, palms and medicinal plants.

We sleep in a tree house, On the fourth day, we head down the river by boat to a beautiful wildlife center (Jaguar Black River) to see capibara, jaguars, tapir, puma and many species of birds, spending the night camping on a sandbar. On the last day we return to Cusco by boat and bus.

*Difficulty level depends very much on your fitness and acclimatization.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – MIRADOR AMAZON LODGE

We leave the city of Cusco by private bus, first to visit the pre-Inca cemetery of Ninamarca. Continuing the journey driving through the mountains we will arrive at the folkloric city of Paucartambo. Here we will take a short walk through the city before continuing to Acjanacco, the highest point and the entrance to the Manu National Park. From here we will continue towards the Cloud Forest and in San Pedro we will walk for about 1 hour to observe the national bird of Peru, (Gallito de las Rocas) and different species of monkeys, plants and flowers. We will arrive at the city of Chontachaca at night, where we will rest in our comfortable lodging.

DAY 2: MIRADOR AMAZON LODGE – RESEVE ECOLOGICA ROBLES (CASA EN EL ARBOL)

After breakfast we will continue by private bus to Atalaya. On the way we will stop at a viewpoint from where you can see the extent of the jungle and rivers. From Atalaya, we will depart 4 hours by motorized boat to Aguas Calientes, where you can bathe in the natural hot springs and take our delicious lunch. Then we will continue on a trip, to arrive at the Robles Ecological Reserve.

We will walk through the jungle for several hours to appreciate the different types of animals, birds, plants and flowers. If we are lucky we will see different species of birds and animals such as the jaguar, the tapir. Wild pig, monkeys. In its natural habitat. Here will be our shelter to rest, dinner and overnight (ecological reserve of Robles) The Robles Ecological Reserve has an extreme wildlife center, it is a very special tropical forest: it is here where the Andes and lowland tropical forest meet and give the visitor the opportunity to see a good selection of birds and plants of both zones, as well as endemic species. to the area.

Your first hike will be on the lowland trails, 350 m above sea level. Also at night, we explored the forest with a flashlight in search of insects, snakes and the only nocturnal nocturnal monkey or “Douricouli”. We spent the night in the tree house (mammals licking clay), Tapir.

DAY 3: HOUSE OF TREES – PARROT AND MACAW CLAY LICK -MANU RAINFOREST LODGE

Very early, we walked 45 minutes to observe green parrots that shout loudly, where many different species of parrots, parakeets and some macaws give a colorful spectacle. After returning from the parrot dewlap, we will have a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, we will walk through the lower jungle. Here we will observe different species of monkeys and plants that the natives use in their daily life. Before lunch we will have free time, then we will continue walking through the jungle to see more animals and observe a beautiful sunset. At night we will walk through the jungle in search of alligators. Night in tent. # Optional or accommodation: we will build a bonfire, we will make a barbecue, relax and drink some drinks.

DAY 4: MANU RAINFOREST LODGE – CUSCO.

After breakfast, we will return to Atalaya by boat, where our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. We return to Cusco through the cloud forest and the mountains, we will pass again through the picturesque town of Paucartambo. We will arrive to Cusco in the afternoon. End of the service.
