Itinerary
Day 1. “CUSCO – PACCHANTA – 7 LAGOONS – PACCHANTA – CUSCO”
We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am. To then go to our destination that will be the “PACCHANTA” community. Which is located at the foot of the snowy “Ausangate”, at 4200 meters above sea level. In the province of Quispicanchis, its inhabitants are dedicated to raising alpacas and growing native tubers. Everyone here is an expert weaver. With the alpaca fiber they make their clothes and use its meat as a source of protein. Native potatoes, traditionally converted into chuño and moraya (dehydrated potatoes), provide carbohydrates to the body to combat cold and physical exertion.
In this community is where we will receive our nutritious breakfast (7:30 AM), then we will venture into the middle of the Andes mountain range to visit “the 7 beautiful lagoons of Ausangate”, at the beginning we will walk about 5 to 6 km. to visit the first lagoon (1:30 hrs approx.), then we will continue with this fascinating adventure visiting the other lagoons, which are of different colors and sizes, formed by the melting of glaciers and snow in the area, these form part of the Andes mountain range, these are surrounded by wonderful fauna and vegetation, typical of the area. It will be a 10 km route. approximately (5 hrs.)
