Overview
Nazca coastal city, located 400 km away from the city of Lima (capital of Peru) The high arid plateau stretches for more than 80 km (50 miles) between the cities of Nazca and Palpa, where a great culture was established. The lines are typically drawn 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 inches) deep. They were made by removing the top layer of reddish brown iron oxide coated stones to reveal a yellowish-gray subsoil.
