Huchuy Qosqo Trek

Huchuy Qosqo Trek, archaeological site north of Cusco, Peru. His name is Quechua meaning “Small Cusco“. It is located at an altitude of 3,600 meters above 3000 meters in the city of Lamay and the Sacred Valley. It is one of the palaces that were built by Wiracocha, the eighth Inca ruler. Among a large number of buildings, some of stone, some of adobe, and this place communicated with Cusco through the Inca Trail existed. After the Revolution of Manco Inca (approx. 1540) the site was used as a farmhouse, now it is a beautiful place to watch the entire Sacred Valley and the mountain range of the Andes.

We leave Cusco early in the morning in our private car taking the road to Chinchero, the starting point of our trek. We started our hike ascending smoothly until reaching the highest point, passing through beautiful places of flora and fauna with the presence of different animals, llamas, alpacas and sheep. Slowly descend on the plateau overlooking the mountain to the ruins of Huchuy Cusco. The ruins are structures made of stone and adobe (mud brick). The beauty of these ruins is being built on top of the mountain. With blue sky and many streams on each side. After relaxing in the shade of the trees Qeuña (Oak Andino) and a delicious Andean lunch, Start the zigzag path through the mountainside, across the Urubamba River, where our private bus will take us back to Cusco afternoon.
